My friend has a 98 camaro Z28 with a bad water pump, He is looking at purchasing one from www.autopartsperformance.com when he looks up the pump under his vehicle it comes up with two versions. one for a long pump with alternator lug, Mr. Gasket part #5126. and one for a short pump, Mr. Gasket part #5125.

I think this is the wrong set up all together, but if someone can verify if this is one of his option please let me know or if it is the right pumps which pump he should get.

I have the same question but i would like to know if a performace pump will be better for my application than the stock pump, what are some good brands and what models work the best?

 

I took the time to visit that site and did the same search and those two water pumps look nothing like LS1 water pumps. Upon further examination, I clicked on the "Other vehicles this part fits" link and it said that water pump also fits all Chevy Small blocks from 1960-2000. Apparently their catalog is wrong.

I would order from some place that sells a LS1 specific water pump.
