Warranty Gold is a rip off and a joke!

I feel your pain. I bought some sort of "platnium" type coverage and I had that warm and fuzzy feeling inside of 70K bumber to bumper protection.
First claim--Control Module (power window and dash lights failed) Good ol GM Warranty fixed it no questions asked.
Sounds great so far? Well, even though my car was in for an electronic failure, my wonderful "EX" dealership that sold me the car was so impressed with my nitrous oxide system, they decided to put in on thier computer records. And of course, never bothered to tell me. A few weeks later, I stop in because the car has thrown a code (emissions) and it turns out it was nothing. While I look over the service advisors shoulder what do I see
***Drivetrain Warranty Cancelled---Nitrous Oxide Installed***
Not happy. I requested my money back for the extended warranty. I was given the old, "we'll get back to you" and now they wont return my phone calls. $2100 lesson learned. The warranty company has since gone out of business, and I have a better chance of growing udders and giving milk before I ever see a penny of that money.
VERDICT---SAVE YOUR MONEY ON EXTENDED COVERAGE.

as much as GM has screwed me, I get better service on my factory warranty than I did with the extended one! On the downside, every "warranty fix" that one of the dealerships did broke again within a month... so I guess its only as good as the mechanic that fixes it
Sigh. You need to take these bastards to court and milk them for every penny you can get. These companies need to start running legitiment businesses, not these run around wanking your d*ck all day ones.
Don't feel too bad, back in 2001, I bought a 94 GMC Sierra Long Bed from local Chev Dealer, and they talked me into their used car warranty, and when I had a problem with Rear end making noise and Tranny Slipping (4L60E), I took the truck into the same dealer (November 2002)2 days before the warranty ran out, and all they told me there was nothing wrong, but when I drove it with a Rear end tech, it made a clicking noise followed by a clunk but he said that was normal.. Then I drove it with the Tranny Tech over there and when the tranny slipped from first to second and then second to Drive (slipping back and fourth between gears) while accelerating, the tech told me it was normal... I was like yeah right, well I had a former boss ride with me (who owned a mechanic shop I worked for) and he recommended on getting rid of it... So 2 weeks later, I bought my Z, but not from the same dealer that I bought that truck from.. I did however bought an Extended warranty that I am paying out of my pocket, but from my experience with the dealership, they do honor their extended warranties.. My recommendation is if you are going to be buying an older car or truck (90 - 99) and you are going to have it financed, I recommend getting an extended warranty especially if it a reputable dealership selling it, like for example on My Z, I take the car to any chrysler dealership after my factory warranty runs out...

Sorry to hear about your hassle, I feel for ya. But I'm wondering if Steve at 1st performance is an authorized GM dealer? You ran up alot of mileage too so that's why you bought that Gold warranty. Wouldn't have the GM extended warranty been better or was it too late to get it after you bought the car? Warranty companies probably trust authorized major dealers over smaller local shops. I bought an extended GM warranty for 2002 firehawk and I hope that I don't need it. I'd flame them too.
They said in writing take it to ANY ASE certified mechanic... so I took it to him. Dealerships are nice and fast, but sometimes the quality of work leaves me wondering... Van chevy has screwed me and a bunch of my friends many times over mis-installation of parts... and when it breaks a second time you know the dealership is going to deny EVERYTHING and blame it on racing or some other BS to cover their ***... already had a lawsuit over that one!
