wanting to buy a 2002 Z, anthing to look for when inspecting it?
Hey guys, im looking at a 2002 anniversary edition Z, with 55k miles. and they want $9950 for it. I started it up and checked out the engine, everything sounded smooth. When i test drove it everything was good, the shifting was smooth (auto trans) and the exaust sounded wonderful. jsut wanted to know if there was anything else i should look for when i do my second viewing.
- The LS1 engine is an aluminum block and some may have piston slap on cold starts. Usually it isn't an issue just something to keep in mind.
- Dunno if this is true or not but I have heard the polymer intake manifolds amplify the injectors tick sound
maybe something to keep in mind so it isn't mistaken for valve train noise. - Check for any mods done and how well they where done (such as fitment and if the parts are all there. Maybe even if the stock parts come with it)
I'm sure some actual LS1 owners can chime in with more info about quirks and what to look/listen for.
