VRE Project 02SilverZ Update

Deep within the Victory Racing Engines compound, work feverishly continues on project 02SilverZ. The car has changed dramatically since it was out last season, and its hardly recognizable to its former 11.30 head and cam self. The project is sheduled to wrap up in early August, testing and dyno pulls to follow. Here’s a quick, inside look at the project coming together.

Looks like a stroker LS1 with a single-plane carb intake converted to EFI.

Yes sir, 347ci.

Plans of the car are to be an N/A effort. Was an 11.30 head and cam car with a 4L60e last year.

Now it has an A3, new engine and a lot more going on for the driver.

Nice. I spot some ETP heads!

what throttle body is that? does it work with the factory harness? Are those the extent of the accessories you're going to use? Im about to start building an LS2 to drop in a stang and want to run an electric water pump and an alternator as the only accessories.

Re: VRE Project 02SilverZ Update

Altenator, dampner, and vac pump are the only pulley we have to encounter.

That is an Accel TB, factory harness reachs all of the injectors and it comes with the IAC and TPS sensor on it. Its going in the car this week so we will have better idea about its interface at that point. The IAC comes with a harness attached from Accel but it doesn't look like a GM clip so some creative wiring may be neccesary.

Those are a set of the ET PErformance 11 Degree heads, nice stuff I like them a lot.

Wow! Very nice! Way to keep the interior away from the gutted beer-can look...

That was something very important to the customer. He didn't want the car to look too gutted and to be honest it really isn't. We haven't scaled it yet, but my guess is that it is still near 3300lb with driver and it was a stripper Z to start with.

Yes sir, the skirts are done in a moly material and a ceramic coating on the tops. They were done at DART Machinery in Troy,MI. Omar is the man over there.
