Question Vette Z06 cam

How much does a Z06 cam usually run in $$$? Anyone using a Z06 cam in their LS1 f-body?

A production Z06 cam will run you probably about $450. But using it on LS1 heads is a waste. Its designed for the smaller combustion chamber, i.e. slightly higher compression and its also designed for the D shaped exhaust port. Also its designed to work with the LS6 springs and retainers. Really you should look at getting a cam designed for LS1 heads, one of those will only run you about $400.

using this cam on LS1 heads is not a waste. People are seeing 25 - 35 hp gain with it.

I've heard the same as Rick, I was gonna get one but didn't want to pay for labor. Perfect cam for decent hp, I also hear it sounds completely stock.

While it's probably not the best choice, it does seem to work quite well. More and more people have been going this route, all seeing about 30 rwhp with it. I don't think that's too bad considering most are paying $500-600 for the cam, install, and everything.

No offense, but last I checked install alone regulary runs 600. To the subject lots of people have seen great gains with the ls6 cam, 30hp isn't bad considering it sounds completely stock. You can make a real sleeper with a ls6 cam and ported heads and no one is the wiser.
Good luck with your project

Ok, lemme jump in here. The cam specs pretty decent, and the 117.5 lsa would be great with my SC setup.

Would I see an even bigger gain using this cam with my supercharger?

Now which year Z06 cam were you guys refering to, the 01 Z06 or the 02-03 ZO6? I wasnt recommending the 02-03 Z06 cam because and I dont know how long the stock springs would hold up to a .550 lift. Which one were you guys saying would give you around 30hp gains on LS1 heads? If its the 01 Z06 cam that actually sounds like a good deal cause I found new ones for $215.

Have you guys looked at this thread yet?? I'd say that 30 rwhp is right on the money! Not a bad upgrade IMO!

the 02 LS6 cam is the one that would give you 30 hp gain, and can be bought for $185, plus the springs.

$185?? Sounds a lot better than $450. Where can I get an LS6 cam and springs for $185?

the cam is $185, the springs are $8 each, so figure $300 total.

I got them from http://www.sdpc2000.com/
