Talking Very Happy with 410 gears!!!!!!!

The difference is amazing! This thing now pulls hard. I also got the pro 5.0 installed and I love it! It is noisy but the 2 to 3 shifts are easy as hell now. I love hammering it in 2nd gear and letting it go sideways while roasting the tires. I know that I am going to have to get new tires though My gas mileage is not bad at all either. I highly recommend 410 gears to everyone. The 6 speed goes well with them. I also got the us strange gears and they do not whine at all. They were installed perfectly. This is by far the best mod I have done. I still have to do the stealth intake and the ftra. After that I am clueless????

are 4.10:1 gears still compatible/comfortable with daily driving? i don't plan on having my car on the strip much, but would like to upgrade the gearing to something a little more aggressive.

My car is my daily driver with a 34 mile commute to/from work round trip ... through town. No complaints at all.

I used to cruise around in 4th, but now I bump up to 5th to keep the revs down. Traction isn't an issue unless you're really wanting to break the tires loose, which they will do on demand.

I think if you go with 3.73, you'll be wishing you went with 4.10.

I have 4.11s in my M6 Z as well - best mod I ever did. Really woke the car up....

Then I got heads, cam, headers, etc... now at 412 rwhp 4.11s are downright nasty--- in a good way.

Drag radials are a must, but the acceleration is amazing! I just put a SLP dual/dual (super quiet) exhaust on too - imagine their surprise when they pull up to a stock looking Z with that HP and 4.11s...lol.

Anyone with a M6 that is reading this...get the 4.11s ....lol.

I'm curious. What is your top speed now? Also, what RPMs are you @ going 60 MPH in 6th?

wow i don't think i would ever go with anything different than my 3.23's. i went to the track two weeks ago and i couldn't even get enough traction as it was. but atleast i managed to shock and aww alot of people who don't realize how fast ls1 camaros are as i pulled down a 13.1 at 105. i don't see how anyone could get a better time with 4.10 unless they are running 315dr's on a stock car. it just seems like you would do more tire frying than what anyone would care to do.

4.10 sound like they'd be alot of fun. I don't know if I'd go any high than 3.73's in my car, it being an A4 and all.

Well FWIW, I just installed the 3.73's in my car yesterday, and I must say I love them!!! Traction IS a problem however, so I'm actually a little worried that my track times will suffer if I run on street tires?! So I can foresee buying a set of DR's before the end of this summer for sure!!!

HOWEVER, traction aside, the gears have totally perked the car up (like it needed it anyway?!) and it's just so much more "snappy" and responsive. I'm also surprised that the revs aren't even that bad...........sure to do 70-80 mph it's turning ~2500-2700 RPM vs roughly ~2000 RPM before, but for pure city driving, I think I might actually get better mileage than with 2.73's because I'll always leave the car in OD now, and the lower gears make it easier to get the car moving. I know that highway mileage will suffer a little, but seeing the way this thing works, I almost wouldn't hesitate to put 4.10's in even with the automatic!! Even though I've never driven a 6-speed F-body, I'm certain that 4.10's would be the perfect gear for them.

Congrats on your times. I'm a stock internal 97LT1 with all the major boltons, am pulling 13.2 right now. I have the M6 with stock 3:42 gears and can tell you that the idea behind 4:10's on the M6 is to setup your launch in 1st and let the next 3 gears do there thing. Sure if you launch too high an rpm you will boil tires but done correctly you will launch correct with great 60' times and scream down the 1/4 much better than your 3:23's. 4:10's are going in next weekend.
