Valve cover gaskets... One last question
Valve cover gaskets... One last question
and I will leave you all alone for a while
. Seems mine are leaking like a seive. I know I probably could reuse them, but, looking at the work I have to do.....nuh ugh!! If and when I replace them, is there any tricks i need to do? Seems simple enough to do, but, I know NOTHING about this engine.
Also, whats the torque supposed to be on the bolts (if you know off the top of your heads)? Doesnt look hard but a wee bit of a time consuming job.
Thanks

Re: Valve cover gaskets... One last question
Don't reuse them, not worth trying to IMO. Here's a link to the '98 torque specs: http://www.ls2.com/boggs/torques/eng...tm#Application
Re: Valve cover gaskets... One last question
If the valve cover gaskets are leaking it's because they fell out of the groove when installed. These covers have a machined groove in them that accepts a rubbery formed gasket that will last thru many R&Rs.
Take the cover off and look. Buddy had one out of place and it leaked, he just R&Red the cover putting it back into the groove where it belonged and it's fine.
