Angry Vacuum Leak maybe?

OK Guys, this is driving me nuts! Ever since my engine install I've had a periodic problem. If I'm driving slowly (15-35) If I hit the brakes firmly, the car stalls and won't start back for about 5 minutes, then it seems to behave OK most times. But now it happens every afternoon coming home from work. It almost seems heat related, because it doesn't happen in the mornings, and seems to happen in the aftrenoon. If I press on the brake my idle always seems to change a little. But I wonder if I could have a vacuum leak that when I hit the brakes it pulls all the vaccum and it dies. Make any sense? Any other thoughts? In case it matters, when my engine was done Danny and them removed and plugged my EGR stuff. Also it seems to idle fine.
TIA!

I'd look for loose grounds and electrical connections.
A bad brake booster could cause enough of a vacuum leak to stall the motor but it would start right back up.
