Post Underdrive pulleys and water pump

If i have to get an overdrive pulley for the alternator to work with the underdrive crank pulley, what happens to the water pump? Does it spin more slowly?

Well isn't that bad? Don't we want the water to circulate as quickly as possible?

Unless you live in the desert..like me...I wouldn't worry about it. Your pump should still move the fluid effeciently enough to keep the motor cool.
