Twin Turbos
I was looking at this Twin Turbo Package.. The Only thing is I don't have any Mods yet on my 02' Camaro. I was wondering what I should get to use a decent amount of boost with these turbos, and not tear up my Engine. And also what kind of HP I should expect from any of these parts. I am abit of a noob so tell me if I get some details wrong. http://www.chargedair.com/xc/custome...b2d7c550d0bc71
This is the Twin Turbo Kit I want.

That's a heck of a first mod! Beefing up the engine definitely wouldn't hurt when running any kind of boost. GM didn't design it with boost in mind. The compression ratio is one of the things that makes forced induction tricky on LS1's. Since you're in IIllinois, I'd recommend calling Speed Inc. They are great and have added turbo chargers to F-bodies. http://www.ls1speed.com is their website. Check them out.
I forgot to ask, what type of Cam should I get to go with this Turbo Upgrade. I was thinking about it for alittle bit and my buddy mentioned it. Thanks to the guy whom gave the local recommendation.

Cam size depends a lot on what you want. With the boost, you have to take that into consideration, and what are you going to do when your not under boost? And I always try to look intyo the future a bit. Thunder Racing is pretty popular, and Ive bought stuff from them with no problems. My cam, springs, titanium retainers, and push rods will be in this week i believe, and i got them from Ramchargers. I got a Lunati 224/224 on a 112 lsa. Nothing too big, but the 112 lobe seperation will give it some more lope. I love that. And its nitrous/boost friendly. That looks like a nice turbo kit. Do you still want A/C? decide what you want and call thunder racing or something. Id also search through some of the older threads on cams. Hope this helps a little bit. theres just so much crap with cams/heads.
unless you're a turbo kinda guy (which i wouldn't blame you cus i love that whistle) i would go with an ati procharger.the procharger i simple enough to install that you could probably put it on yourself in less than a day, they have a better warranty, they're a little cheaper, and from what all the forced induction guys that i know of they're the most reliable way to go. if i were you id go with the 8psi procharger and you'd have somewhere around 470 rwhp + or - 10hp.
don't forget another $2000 for a 12 bolt or 9" to live up to those power levels.... and while you are at it, you might as well get a new driveshaft (another what, $300-500?) and a new clutch/pp/flywheel/hdyralic (close to a $1000!)
Looks like you won't be able to pass an emissions check afterwards.. even if you pass the sniffer, they may fail you on the visual.
then you start to wonder how long a stock engine will actually last...

yea if you do something like that it pretty much makes it not a daily driver. but if your not looking for it to still be a daily driver, gl with it. it will be expensive, as there are lotsof other things that you will need before (or after if you want to let them break first, which i wouldn't) you put them on.
Ya, once you get something like a super or turbo charger, you really have to get other things to compliment it and not to mess up your car.
Things your might was also consider are rear end, connecting rods/bolts, push rods, wheels, MAF, TB, intake manifold, etc... I think you should fix up the engine and drivetrain, and then get the turbo.
Ya well, have fun

oh come on now...turbo cars are very friendly daily drivers unless you have your foot planted all the time. as far as partial daily driving in traffic throttle, it will drive just the same as it does now...until you make boost. and as far as looking into the CAS kit...id look elsewhere, their track record is not what id call clean in the least.
Turbos are cool, but there are other factors to consider. if one of those turbos seizes, you'll know it. and the oil doesnt like getting that hot. Dont get me wrong, i love turbos, and they actually will create less wear than a NA car, but cost and other factors have swayed me to get an ATI Procharger wen i get some boost. A d-1sc. The turbo is awesome though. Look in my mods list to see some other crap you might want to do before you get too deep. All i need on my suspension is a torque arm to go 9's.
