Re: tuning

You can get a mail order tune off the internet .. Pcm for less ????? I think
Do you have any upgrades cold air intake ?? headers , cat back exhaust ??
if not " IMO " I would pass on the tune ....not saying that you can't gain anything

Re: tuning

Basic bolt-ons like a lid, cold air intake, or cat-back system I wouldn't worry about a tune yet. But when you go adding things like long tube headers, or intake, or cam, or heads, or anything that might set the SES light, then that's when I'd go and get a tune.

IMO, mail order tunes are good for getting you to a professional tuner, but the best tunes are done on the dyno and street by a tuner.

Re: tuning

Not to piggy back, but I also had the same question. So far my 2002 Z28 has intake, headers and full exhaust, ported and polished intake. I think that I might need a tune? what happen or could happen if the vehicle is not tuned?

Nothing is probably going to happen in your case, it is just that you might not realize all of the potential of your new hardware changes without some adjustments to timing and fueling..

Re: tuning

Thank you for the info. The car is going to be street tuned this Tuesday, can't wait to see how it drives after.
