Is This True About The LS1??

This guy has a 2000 Camaro SS. It has a hurst shifter and he says it makes about 380HP at the motor. He says it has an SLP Y-pipe, flowmaster catback, G2 airlid, ported airbox, holley air filter, descreened MAF and TB bypass. Its not a Berger car but I went to their site and they claim they have that much power with only a catback and lid. Whats the real deal??

Yes, it's possible. My car is pushing 341 horsepower to the rear wheels, which puts it pretty close to 400 hp at the engine with only a filter and catback exhaust. These cars are pretty underrated.

I'm thinking you meant "no way at the wheels."

When you have 2002s dumping 329 HP to the ground bone stock, I wouldn't doubt it.

I made 338/rwhp with a tune up and headers. 383/rwhp with a Rapid Stage II cam.

380 at the motor is entirely possible with a lid and catback.

01-02 SS/WS6 is rated @ 325hp stock, how much HP's will it gain with a lid, filter, y-pipe, and a LM..? Im guessing........ +15hp=340hp???

The factory ratings really mean absolutly nothing. An 01/02 SS with those mods with an M6 should be putting out about 320-330 at the wheels. With an auto, I would guess about 310-320.

Every car reacts to mods differently.

So what does Berger actaully do then to achieve the 380HP mark besides a catback and lid? Or do they do more? Its not listed if they do so then arent the lying about their numbers?

Or is it possible for the LS1 to do that with only those mods?

Yes it's possible. Some of you have a serious reading/comprehension deficiency. LS1s are underrated and have ~ 350-360 CRANK hp from the factory.
