Triple Gauge Pillar ?'s...
Triple Gauge Pillar ?'s...
Hey guys. I just got a triple gauge piller from autometer, and I have 2 questions: 1) does it seem to be a little darker than the rest of the car to you guys? And 2) it says to drill holes in the stock a-pillar to make those little rivet things hold it on? Any tips on doing a nice install, to not make it look like crap? Thanks in advance.
My buddy has one on his camaro and it looks great. The reason it probably looks darker is your a pillar might be a little faded from the sun. I doubt there's any other way to get it to stay up there without screwing or riverting it, unless you want to glue it.
Jegs said Autometer was backordered on the triple pods, so I ordered one from RK Suck. But, I'm impressed with their triple pod! It's black, but doesn't drill into the stock pillar cover. It actually slips over the stock cover, even on the ends, and uses the stock mounting screws to hold it in place. It looks great
To drill the holes, take off the stock pillar and put the new pillar over it. From there just hold them together and drill three holes per side - top, middle and bottom. This way it'll be nice and secure with gauges installed. Hope this helps, if not ask more questions. By the way this is Todd, we met at dyno day, I had the triple pod you were looking at.
