Unhappy Tranny question.

I have a squeeking sound coming from my Hurst tranny. I dont know the real name of it, i think it is M6? Anyway, when i was having my exhaust done it was up on the rack, and i had them start it while it was up there so i could hear where the squeeking was coming from. it sounded like it was from the tranny, and the guy said he thought the throw out bearing was going out. What do you guys think? Is this a common problem in these cars? How much to get it fixed? And if my clutch goes out, how long do i have?

My dad also wanted to know if there is a service plate on the bell housing to grease the bearing with. He says the older cars do.

Thanks guys.

i am quite sure (if the m6 is similar to older GM tranny's) that you cannot grease the throughout berring, and involves quite a lengthy repair. the fact that it is squeaking really makes no DIRE importance, and I would just let it go, and forget about it.
