Traded my 96 v6 for a 02 z28...1st mod a cutout?
Whats up everyone, I bought a black 2002 z28 M6. For right now I am happy with the hp it has, but what I do want to do is make it louder. The car is completely stock, and since I don't have money for a catback system right now, I was thinking of getting a cutout.
I have never heard a stock z28 with a cutout, so I don't know how it will sound. The louder the better. Are they louder than a catback like SLP, or not as loud. If any of you have a sound clip of your cutout, please post a link so I can hear it. Thanks.
P.S. - This car is way more fun to drive than my 96 v6 a4 that I had. I haven't took pictures of my z28 because it is stock, but here is a link to the F1 Camaro

I have a cutout on my otherwise stock exhaust and it sounds great. Guarantee you won't regret it. Alot of people say its louder than the slp loudmouth system. Just think you could buy a borla or loudmouth for hundreds of more dollars. Besides a lid which I highly recommend you do its the best bang for the buck mod.
Congrats on moving up.
I have a Onyx Black 2002 M6 Z28 too.
If ya just want to make your otherwise stock car LOUD, than nothing better(and cheaper) than a $35 cutout.
Guaranteed horsepower at the drop of a cap.
Only thing I don't like about them is that they produce irratating interior noise(drone/rattles) and sound crappy IMO(like a rusted out pick-up truck or something
).
You can't beat the bang for the buck though...

Thanks for all of your responces, I was going to get the Flowtech for $35, but the Summit cutout sells for 26.97, which I believe has free shipping. Also, an exhaust shop told me they charge $30 to install it, but I am sure I can get it done for a bit less. Once I get it on, I will record how it sounds.
