Question Tires

I recently blew one of my tires. I have the Goodyear Eagle GS-C which came optionally on my car. What type of tires do y'all recomend?

I run Kumho 712's on all four corners. Good in rain and good dry traction as well. I managed to cut a 1.9 60' time on them and think I can pull a 1.8

They are a decent tire.

Talking Too bad you are not in Texas ...

As I would give you 2 1/2 worn GSC's off my old T/A !

(Only 11K on 'em - nah, I did not burn the rears on occasion ... )

At any rate, count me as Vote # 2 ! for Kumho 712's.

I have them on the SS , and for ~ $ 120.00 a tire they are dam hard to beat !

Try finding a Goodyear (or, a Firestone Firehawk) at that price.

Here is another option :

Good Luck !

I was extremely happy with my Bridgestone Potenza RE730's... just don't try to use them in snow...

They were SUBERB in wet and dry conditions.

OMG avoid Kumhos!
they are crap!
As I have said before, people who like Kumhos havent been on good tires!

I personally have had experience with the top tires in the world (Pirelli P Zeros amoung them) and I say the Yokohama AVS ES 100s will leave you with a huge smile! Both in wet and in the dry for sure!

I tried the Kumhos since I needed 2 cheap tires to pass inspection. They were the worst! The cheap coopers that were on the modded 95 Z that I had were better!

The Yokohama AVS ES100's replaced the AVS Intermediates which were IMO the best tire for the money on the planet.

I now have a full set of Yokohama AVS ES100's. I spent 510.00 out the door installed and balanced on the four from Discount tire.

(Tires I currently own on rims:2- MT ET Streets, 2- Nitto Extreme Drag, and 2- BFG Drag Radials Comp T/A(not the G-force as they dont make it in my size..))

Alright y'all, what is the best for the price? They want $230 for a new Eagle GS-C so i have to look lower than that but I don't want to compromise my traction and such. Are the Yokohamas all they're cracked up to be? Also the plot thicken, seems the rim is dented too. Where can i get an afrodable repacement for the chrome 16" 10-spoke (came optionally with the car)?

hmm, try and call SLP and see if they have any.. sometimes they do.

as for the tires. I have run yokohama on my mothers Mercedes, and on my Z's. I have also recommeded them to more than 10 of my friends who have purchased them and they all loved them as well.. In 3 years I went through 4 complete sets of the Yokohamas.. (note that I was driving over 120 miles a day to and from work - yes, texas rules!)

Will the Yokohamas lower my speed rating or traction or anything of that nature from the Eagle GS-C?

The yokohamas have a "W" speed rating or 168mph. Unless you have a lot of mods and can reach 170+, the yokohamas will be fine.

I've got Nitto's all around. 555 Extremes up front (275) and 555R's in the back (also 275). Great dry traction, wet, not too bad. Not too expensive either, or I don't think so anyway.

It seems the Nitto 555 don't come in the standard 245/50ZR16 size. What size do y'all run?
