Post A Tire Question

I will soon be purchasing Nitto DR's. However, these won't be on the car all the time since I don't want to be buying new tires every 3 months. My Eagle GSC's that came on the car (2001 Z28) are almost out of tread and I need to get some new tires soon. What would be a good tire to get which is superior to the tires which came on my car? Should I buy the stock tires again or is there something better out there? I want a tire which offers superior traction to what I have on there now without going to a DR. Money isn't an object with my daily driven tires. Any help would be great. Thanks guys.

The GS-Cs seem to be pretty good tires. Choosing them again probably wouldn't be a bad idea but some others to consider would be: Dunlop SP 9000 or even the 8000, Michelin Pilot Sport($$$$$) or BFG g-force T/A KDW. All of them are good performance tires.

Which size Nittos are you going with? I just put Nittos on my ride and I love them they hook great but the 275s are way to small, email me and I'll give you the details on what to get.

For other tires I would consider Kuhmo MXs from tirerack, great value.

I put Kumho Ecsta Supras on mine when the stock tires wore out, and I like them a lot better than the stock Goodyears. They are a lot cheaper also. Just my $.02

I suggest that the very best includes Toyo's new tire. I haven't worn out my original Firestone (actually made in Japan by Bridgestone) Firehawks on my street car yet, but I roadrace on the same tire in Production class and abolutley nothing beats them for wet/dry/in between and for long life at the track. I've already ordered a set, but they are not cheap! I'm in Canada so I have no idea whether you can get them down there or what they will cost you. Worth a look though...
