Time for longtube headers

I'm on the market for longtube headers now, and was wondering which system I should get? I would like to go a fairly cheap route, but want to use high flow cats also. For everything I will need (longtubes, highflow cats, and y-pipe) what would be the best deal? I'll probably go with uncoated headers since so many people have told me the coating flakes off in a very short time anyway. I want to go with a catted system since I'm running the GMMG exhaust. BTW, where can I get cheap highflow cats that will sound good on my system?

Everyone I have talked to has had the ceramic coating. A guy even had his ceramic coating begin to flake off in a day! Stainless is probably the best way to go, too bad it is so expensive...

Yeah, i have heard that the liftime for coated headers is like 20 months. That alone made me decide to save up and buy QTP headers.

Go with QTP's they are only $799 for 1 3/4 primaries with emission's, and you can get a catted y-pipe for them for $500.QTP headers and y-pipes

Nice! I would love to get a pair of stainless steel longtubes. I just hate paying $800 for them when I also have to get a y-pipe, cats, TR224-112 cam, timing chain, T/A rearend girdle and LS1 edit tuning..... Modding really adds up.

Anyone know of a website that does group purchases for QTP?

coating is very good, if done right, and you tune the car properly. If you do a tune and don't follow the directions that come with the coated headers, they will flake off.

Jet Hot LT's. coates and shipped for $511. Nobody beats that with LTs and coating that lasts.

So Jet-Hot sells their own headers, or do they just sell other brands and coat them? Could I buy Hooker headers from Jet-Hot, and have them do the coating?

Anyone check out the new Dynatech longtubes?

Yes and yes. They sell their own headers and they coat other companies headers. They have a thread in the gp section about a new program they are starting where you call them and tell them what you want and they will buy the product and coat it for you instead of you having to buy it ship it to them to have them coated. They may be able to do it a little cheaper too since they have good contacts in the industry.
