The time has come...how do I replace my EGR valve?

I finally have some expendable money that I can use on this. Where can I find a replacement EGR valve and how do I reinstall it? Is there anything else I will need? (I've alreaddy got a new O-ring) Like a new EGR tube or gaskets or anything like that?

Here ya go:

Pull the EGR and AIR pump out. Block off the openings for them (I have some made from aluminum plating I picked up from Home Depot and use a freeze plug for the intake) and go to a tuner and pay $50 to get the codes turned off. Thats all you'd need.

Re: The time has come...how do I replace my EGR valve?

I don't want them deleted, I just want the EGR replaced. Until I can get some LS6 heads, I am going to keep them. Why? So I'm not polluting anymore than I need to. Its not worth the extra 1/2 horsepower and 2 lbs of weight I'll save.

I'm doing this because my SES light came on and they linked it to a fualty EGR valve at autozone...

So does anyone actually know how I can replace them?

EGR is easy on an LS1 f-body. Any parts house should have a replacement EGR. 2 bolts on the flange, the tube and the electrical connection. And it's right out front instead of buried in behind the intake like on an LT1. Just get a new gasket. (check in the box first there might be one in there).

Since 01's and 02's don't even have EGRs, I don't see any plroblem with polluting more w/out it.

Yeah, I passed the sniffer way way way under their "acceptable" ratings, and I haven't had egr or air for a long time--- and I'm not exactly stock.
