Time to change speedometer detting?

I am goiung from stock 02 tires and rims to 275 with 17in' rims. Because of the lower profile can I get away without changing the speedometer or does it need to be done to be accurate? If so, is it a matter of reflashing the PCM or is it mechanically related?

If you're going to 275/40-17's you won't need to change the speedo, the diameter is about the same. Speedo changes have to be made through the PCM.
