which throttle body

Im looking to get a throttle body but I would like some suggestions before I buy one. Im looking at the BBK unit 80mm, I noticed the 85mm is cheaper but will it fit the stock manifold? Also looked at the Accufab unit which is still 75mm but flows nearly 1000cfm's, then the FAST units but I think iv heard they stick open. Mods are in my sig, but its a MFS F13 cam, full exhaust and CAI its a daily driver. Thanks

Well... The only reason to not go with a ported stock TB is if you're going to upgrade to a FAST LSX intake and TB. Aftermarket TB's are pretty much useless HP wise unless you have a higher flowing intake manifold than the LS6.

Yeah, what do you have currently? You really need to be making some serious power to make any good use of a larger throttle body.

p.s. you say your mods are in your sig, but you have nothing listed in your sig.

Re: which throttle body

stick with the ported stock TB....no need to go bigger untill you anti-up for the FAST 90/90

remember your maf is still 75mm so going much bigger on the TB would be kindda pointless.

i noticed no difference other than part throttle response when i put on my ported stocker...so if it did increase power...it was maybe 5hp. not worth spending $300+ on

Re: which throttle body

No i went and edited my sig after i posted this post and figured it would be posted once saved into the system but it wasnt. So I edited my post and included my mods. The previous owner of my car had a BBk unit on the car and it dynoed 385whp, but before he sold the car he sold the throttle body and now the car has 375whp, he works at a dyno shop so dyno time is cheap. I was just trying to get reviews on the units availabe for us since this wont be my last mod. Im really leaning toward the Accufab unit since its still the same size as stock 75mm but flows so much more. With air flow dynamics that would help bottom end as well as top end since air flows faster in a smaller space and the accufab can move more air than the stocker. I know 5mm wont kill low rpm power but thast just how I think, to deeply about things. Thanks for the replys

Re: which throttle body

where are you getting these flow numbers? a well ported stock should flow almost as good as the accufab! If you put some filler in the large iac bores and suck with a hole drilled into it, it'll flow pretty damn near the accufab and cost 200 bucks less

But it won't idle right with a big cam. I'd leave the IAC holes alone.
