Those of you with Pacesetter Headers

Looking for people with pacesetter LT's on their LS1. I got mine yesterday from speedinc and they didn't come with new gaskets. How many of you changed your gaskets when you changed the headers and did the gaskets come with the pacesetter install kit?

The stock gaskets are reusable and good.

Why not just buy some gaskets and get it over with? I think the stock metal gaskets from GM will work if i'm not mistaken.

Re: Those of you with Pacesetter Headers

I used percy's soft metal gaskets which are engineered to be reusable when the headers are removed frequently, they claim they will not burn or blow out.I did not trust the paper gaskets that came with the pacesetters, so I spent the $50, shipping included and so far, I am happy to say no leaks!

I'm guessing this would be for the LS1's? $54 is a little steep, i'm pretty sure GM has metal ones for cheaper.

I just put a set of JetHots on with those gaskets because the owner bought them. What a pain in the butt. I had to torque them a dozen times before I could get back to bolt 1 and have it not turn.

I used GM metal gaskets on my car. They work great and torque up in about 4 passes.

The stock metal gaskets are reuseable and should not leak at all. It was one of the first questions I asked on the phone when I odered from TS&P.

Yes, those are the ones that I used, but I did not have any problems tightening the bolts like some of the others have had ,I guess I was lucky, lol.Yeah, at $50 they are expensive ,but worth it not to have to deal with header leaks as this car is a pain in the butt to work on!

Re: Those of you with Pacesetter Headers

Those can't be the right gaskets because they don't even have the same bolt pattern and the primaries aren't even in the right spot.

The picture you see is for a gen one small block, but the material that it is made of is what we are talking about and I'm sure that was his intension... but thats a good observation on your part!
