Think I can break 400hp?

Mods so far (some ordered, some already installed) are: GTP420 cam (226/226 .595/.595 112), 918 springs, hooker long tubes woth ORY, hooker aerochamber muffler, !egr, whisper lid, K&N, free mods, ftra. When I find a decent deal I'll go to an LS6 or LSX intake (my car is a 99, BTW)

I'd like to see an 11 second time slip on the motor...

I have a 3500 stall yank converter, 3.42 gears, LCAs, SFCs, ET streets, etc to help get it down the track.

So, am I realistic?

I can let you know by the end of the week. You got pretty much the same stuff I just put in. I get my car back from the dyno shop on thursday and can't wait to see the numbers

Re: Think I can break 400hp?

Man my car is automatic. I remember I went to the track with it...I had full exhaust and full intake done with LS6 manifold, no stall. I launched the car only from 1000 rpm and my car ran 12.7 on 4.10 gear. With stall Im pretty sure I could do 12.3 if not better. So now when u have the same set up pretty much and ull add 595 lift cam... Just make sure u provide nice air flow for You motor with that cam..and dyno tune it. Youll be easily in 11s.
I would bet $100 on that

Good luck

My friend has a auto with about the same set but with true duals, and a set of heads. His dyno at 368, with a 3500 stall. the stall coverters eat alot of power from what I've heard. Mine is a 6speed with almost the same setup you have but my cam is 224/228 581/589 lift on a 112 LSA and I pulled in the heat of the day in Florida 382/361 witout heads

Not without a custom tune of the PCM since the CAM, esp the 112 LSA has lost low end vaccum.
The PCM torque management vlaue in your PCM was set to 350 ft/lbs, as you add more performance and spike over that value the PCM is yanking out timing and with a auto trannie also unlocks T.C so you cannot add parts for performance without tuning in those mods with the PCM software.

You also need a bit larger injector such as the SVO 30's

I don't think 11 sec is out of the question. In fact I would be a little disappointed if it didn't hit 11's. 400 hp on the other hand is a little optomistic for an a4, especially an a4 with a 3500 rpm stall.

Good luck with all that. When did you get an ls1 car anyway? (I haven't been very active since I got rid of my 'maro)

Hmmm. I just haven't seen you post in the ls1 section up until recently is why I asked. So of the parts you have listed what do you currently have installed and what does it run with those parts.

As a rule, M6's usually take about ~12% drivetrain loss, and A4's are around ~15% loss (in "near stock" form anyways).

Now let's just say 15% loss for your buddy's A4, making 368 RWHP:

368 RWHP / .85 = 433 HP (flywheel)

That # may actually be low, considering the 3500 stall converter. With an M6, 433 HP should put ~381 HP to the rear wheels (433 HP X .88 = 381 RWHP).

Regardless of what you get at the wheels, I think it's safe to say your motor will be making well over 400 HP at the crank.

BTW, I like seeing that so many of you guys run 4.10's with your automatics! I don't feel like such a freak!!

The only things on the list not done are the cam and springs, and they're ordered. I haven't run it the way it sits currently. I ran it 100% stock last year, but the motor has been out since then. Just put it back in about a week ago.

When it was all stock, it ran 13.95 But it is a convertible with 2.73 gears, a4 (of course), etc. I expect it should run a mid to high 12 with some tuning as it sits. So a cam and springs will have to bring some potent numbers with it. But I think if I can couple it to a better intake and TB to move some air, and a good dyno tune, it might be there.

He now has BFG DR's, 3.42's, and long tubes, hasn't gone any faster because his tune is completely wrong. 289rwhp

I'd imagine he could run a 12.6 or so on a perfect run. He's all stock suspension as well.

Hurry up and see what your car does, he's eager to do a cam swap.
Where did your friend get his tune? I just had mine done (wrong) and they told me 290 rwhp. I told the guy you're joking right....right....?

Re: Think I can break 400hp?

A. If your staying all motor, you won't need bigger injectors like stated above unless you plan to spray a dry shot
B. You won't hit 400rwhp, but 400 flywheel will be smashed
C. It will definately run 11's on some drag radials much less et streets.. I would guestimate 11.70's-11.80s if you remove spare tire/jack and some unnecessary weight. I also don't think a bigger convertor would hurt

Good Luck,
Josh
