a friend of mine has an LS1 and i don't know near as much about them as i do LT1s. anyways.

he said the little thingie on the drivers side of the throttle body starts ticking after the car warms up. i have no idea what the thing is....it looks like it would be fuel related. it has a hose running to the side of the throttle body...and it's about 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. (cylinder shaped)
it's a 98 Z28.

anyway. i'm sure if i knew what it was called i could do a search and find out a lot about it. anyways....thanks in advance.

 

The only things I know of on tha side of the throttle body are the IAC valve and the TP sensor. My guess is it is the IAC valve opening and closing at idle that is ticking. As for the hose the only hose I know of on the TB are the coolant hoses, but they are more at the bottom of the TB. Use this website to see if you can identify the part you are thinking of, img. 15 has a good view of the left side. Hope I helped.

in this picture. the hose that is running from the side of the throttle body, it's yellow with a black boot on it.

what does that hose run to? that's what i'm talking about.

i should have been more clear, it's more on the INTAKE. with a hose running to the TB.

i love my CBR, i've had it almost a year now, before it i had a 97gsxr600.
i see you have a 600rr, i used to know a guy with one, they're nice bikes.

 

Okay, after looking on my car it seems that the hose you are referring to is part of the evaporative emissions system. The part # on the hose is 12552222 which goes to the canister purge solenoid which is part # 1997278.
