Thermostat question???
Hello!
I changed the thermostat on my 2000 Camaro Z-28 M6 some months ago. I bought the OEM. It is the one that comes with the water outlet housing(the old one is the same as this new one).
When I instaled it I put a very little amount of gasket sealant and I was sure that the sealant didn't touched the rubber gasket that came with it. Yesteday I noticed that my car is loosing coolant and I think is from that section. My question is:
Should I not use gasket sealant at all or I have to use more gasket sealant?
Please let me know. Thanks

The only reason to use any gasket sealer on the thermostat is to keep the O ring gasket in its place. If you used more then a dab in 2 spots thats 1 spot too many
