Is there a switch to turn off traction control?

Thanks

If you do not have a switch marked "ASR" on your center console above the radio, next to the "CAMARO" badge and foglamp switch, your car does not have traction control.

All the camaros I have ever seen with traction control have a switch above the radio. My 01 does and so does a friends 97.

Question

My car does not have TC, but the "non functional" button next to the fog light button has wires running to it in the back? What are they for?

Thanks!

Are you talking about the yellow hatch release button?

Setup goes as follows:
Light Switch
Fog Light Switch
Hatch Release

Not 100% psoitive on this, but I'd imagine the wiring for the ASR switch is just part of the standard wiring harness, even though it is not used in you application.

The one between the foglight button and the CAMARO plate above the stereo. I'm assuming the Firebirds are different then.

That is weird. The ASR button should automatically turn on, unless you got the car used and the previous owner did some mod to keep from automatically turning on. My first few visits at the track I always forgot to turn it off. Now I turn it off everytime I start the car up..only leave it on in the rain.

When I pulled the rear on my 99 Z28 M6 I have traction control
but I have the non-functional button as well. I bought my car used and it could be possible the guy b4 me did something to pull it but it definitely is equipped with traction control. Ive seen it equip when traction is really bad but most of the time it seems like its not there

Is this strange??

Let me know
