I called about headers not to long ago and got into the discussion of !EGR and !AIR (both I don't know what they mean), Anyhow, I told him I had a 02 Z and he said the pipes came with AIR but now to worry b/c they don't use EGR on them anymore. A little help here.

 

the 01 and 02 cars have no EGR

 

starting in 01 GM removed the EGR from the F-body cars so headers designed for 01's and 02's don't have the EGR tube mounting flange. they do still have the AIR setup. these are the tubes that mount to your exhaust manifolds and will be there on most headers you get. it is an emissions thing, fortunately being a resident of Kentucky we don't have emissions testing and all that crap comes off of most of the cars we do heads and cams on
