Talkin Aftermarket Suspension...

I've heard alot of good things about beefing up the suspension in my car. People Tell me it will make the car faster in certain ways. My question is which brand of suspension parts are the best. I have looked at BMR and SLP and SLP is so much cheaper, and I have heard and found that they make pretty nice stuff, but how are their suspension products? Thanks.

Also, the parts I was looking to get included: Panhard Bar, Front and Rear Strut Bars, LCA's, & SFC's. I know my car doesn't need all of this right now to put the power to the ground, but eventually, maybe sooner rather than later I'll be spraying with drag radials and a torque converter.

Check out spohn or wolfe. It all depends on what you want out of your car. Do you want great handling or hard launches?

since when has SLP been cheaper??

anyway

BMR makes great stuff and you get a choice of colors which is cool.

all those parts will make the car more enjoyable to drive.

Thats like wanting long tread life from competition tires.

I'd suggest 1le or BMR or some of the less stiff springs. 3rd gen shocks in rear (your choice) with whatever strut you want up front. If you have the cash, get adjustable or coil overs. Could always leave the stock springs alone and just upgrade the shocks/struts too.

Get SFC's first though. Just to prevent twisting from hard launches.

LCA's helped very little for me. A TA will do more for you and an aftermarket PHB and STB would be pointless for drags.

Get rid of the front sway bar when racing.

Get better tires too.

Re: Talkin Aftermarket Suspension...

Ok so, I was looking at SFC's and comparing designs and prices. The BMR SFC's are close to (within 20$) of the SLP SFC's, however the SLP design looks much much better. The Spohn connectors looked similar to the BMR design but cost as much as the SLP bolt on SFC's...I guess I should ask how much is too much to spend and which brand is going to be better in the long run.

If you want to spend the money on good suspension pices look at Wolf, Spohn and LG motorsports. BMR is pretty good also (I have their SFC).

Re: Talkin Aftermarket Suspension...

BMR SFC's (weld-on) $169
SLP SFC's (weld-on) $189
Spohn SFC's (weld-on) $175

I believe I will go with the SLP's, the have the best design, and for not much more.

Now for other suspension parts, my modifications are limited as of now. My next mods include headers, ls6 intake, and ssra. What suspension mods should I do before or after these. I want my car to hook really well, but I don't want it to lose flexibility on the road.

Re: Talkin Aftermarket Suspension...

The SLP SFC's are OK, but they may get in the way of future exaust plans. If you ever plan to go with a X-pipe dual setup, don't get the diamond style like the SLP's. When it comes down to picking the best ones, they all do the same thing. I've always paid more and gone with the Hotchkis SFC's because they tuck away better than all the others I've delt with. As far as the other suspension stuff, I'd get a Spohn torque arm, lower control arms, and lower control arm relocation brackets. This will give you good firm launches and stiffin up the chassis a little more. After that, worry about the shock/strut situation.

I can agree with that. BMR makes great products. My whole front suspension is done by them. I just prefer the Spohn TA design over the BMR. Other than that, there awesome.
