What do you guys think of the BFGoodrich Ta KDW's? Theyre only 150/tire, and they have a treadwear rating of 400!?!?. What do you guys think about this tire?

Firehawks. I have them on my 91. Paid 137 a tire but that was for 16" tires.

BFG KDWS if you want very good traction and handling and great all weather performance

BFG KDW if you want a little better traction and handling but sacrifice a little rain performance and no snow performance

BFG KD if you want the best traction and handling but sacrifice all adverse weather condition driving.

I run KDWS up front and KDs in the rear. I had G-Force DRs but I cant put up with buying 18 inch tires every 5000 miles.

I don't see a 400 tread wear tire having good traction. That's like having 1,000 hp and getting 40 miles to the gallon.

Cobras

It seems I'm all by myself on this one, but i received Cobras on my Z when I bought it. They are 245/40/ZR16 on stock Z wheels. They didn't look too special, but they hooked up really well, tread is sustainable. There's my opinion, all of the other options are nice. I have either heard or had personal experience with all of them.

I'm now torn between the Nitto's, the Kumho's, and the Firehawks. Anyone other have some first-hand experience?

Yeah man I cant believe you have narrowed out the BFGs. BFG makes the best tires period. The G-force drag radial will out hook the Nitto 555rs any day of the week and in terms of street tires a BFG KD or KDW is far superior to a Nitto 555. Ive had both and trust me the non-drag radial nitto's blow. If you decide going with a drag radial the only reason to get the 555r is the longer treadlife. The G-Force DRs handle better, grip better and are better in the rain when new. When drag radials go bald theyre all hell on earth in the rain. But even my BFG DRs hooked in the rain as long as I didnt punch it.

Unless there has been some recent developements, the "G-Force" line of drag radial is only for imports. Otherwise BFG make the other standard 255/50/16 "Comp T/A" drag radial which is not in the "G-Force" lineup.

Hi everyone, new to these boards. Frequent on many 350z boards, etc. Not to hijack the thread, but here is the video Klypto is referring to. http://members.***.net/~conceyted/20...s 2004350z.wmv
PLEASE RIGHTCLICK SAVE AS

Lets just say that before he got those tires he had trouble keeping up. Now that he has the tires, well, traction makes a big difference After witnessing my second pair of 555r's I am convinced they are great tires. I will be ordering some for the Z soon enough. Go that route and you won't regret it.
