Subframe connectors and strut tower brace
Re: Subframe connectors and strut tower brace
Not sure what you mean by acceleration. In my opinion, SFCs are crucial for our F-bodies. The frame constantly twists due to the torque these bad boys have. SFCs will tie in major points of yoru chassis to strengthen it. It will keep your frame from twisting istelf into a frenzy. Once those squeeks and rattles start, you'll hate 'em.
The STB will stiffen your front end. They tie the struts together. You'll feel both a lot more when cornering.
If you want to increase traction, then I recommend LCAs and Brackets. Both will aid in reducing wheel hop by themselves. They work much better in conjunction with one another.
Any other questions, feel free to ask!

i agree with eric (big suprise)...
sfc and stb are not something felt in "acceleration", possibly you would hook better with the sfc due to less chassis flex.
in a way you would almost slow down in the 1/4mi with those two mods...due to the added weight

Re: Subframe connectors and strut tower brace
as stated above, yet, with a stiffer frame, you will not lose as much power to the flex so it can be put down better.. My answer.. I will help you a tad bit in straight line runs from a dig.. and for sure in turns..
Re: Subframe connectors and strut tower brace
I highly recommend SFC. Weld in is best. Boxed, tubular, diamond is all a matter of preference.
STB is debatable. Especially when you can flex the LS1 hotchkiss with body weight. Sam Strano doesn't run with them. He says that area doesn't flex. Personally, I noticed a slight tightening to steering response with mine, but it could alwayd be the placebo effect. The 3 point STBs are advised against because they'll put strain on the cowling which isn't strong to begin with. I've read where guys have cracked windshields from them.

Re: Subframe connectors and strut tower brace
I noticed a noticeable difference in traction with SFC's installed. Like already stated, a STB will only help in the corners, and will actually HURT you with traction (at the track) When you launch, your front driver corner wants to lift higher than the passenger side to plant the tires. If it can't achieve this (having the strut towers attached) you can hurt your 60'. This is why most of us take off our STB's and even our front sway bar when going to the track.
