Which subframe?
Which sub-frame connector is best? dynamic MotorSports or ??? I've heard of BMR, but I don't know what it stands for, its website,or any other sfc connector suppliers. Opinions? Comments? Suggestions?
Thanks!

Boxed BMRs. Double Diamond SFCs seemed a little unecessary to me since my car's for straight line performance and the DDs add unecessary weight, plus I dont have anything close to resembling a torque monster anyway. DD, Boxed and tubular will all do the same job. Just personal preference. If I had the choice to do it again, I'd probably have gone tubular.
www.BMRfabrication.com is BMR's site. All I can say is I'm very pleased with the fit and finish on my SFCs and LCAs.

Boxed or square is stronger than tublar but you loose ground clearance. But most say only needed if you are dragging with 400 HP or more. Here is what I have, they feel very tight

they are tubular and a little larger tubing than BMR for the same price. They tuck up under and are slightly visible from the side. No loss of ground clearance. Fit was good. Later>>>>>>

Well, my Z28 is only slightly modified: HyperTech programmer, K&N filter element, and FlowMaster muffler. Do I even NEED a sfc then at all? I don't intend any radical engine mod's (CA is too tough on smog laws).
What do you guys/gals think? Is this a waste of money for me/unnecessary?
Again, thanks for eveyone's input...

DarkAge53,
I researched both, bolt-on and weld-in sfc's. Information suggests that the bolt-on's have more of a liklihood to ream-out the hole that the bolt that holds them in place uses, thus negating some of the affect/purpose. Seemed to make sense to me since with welding-in there's no chance of it moving even the slightest. I'm no expert for sure, but that info, found in more than one place, seemed logical enough for me so I tend to believe it. But again, I'm certainly no expert on this stuff and that's why I'm open to opinioins/suggestions/feedback.
It's still under consideration though... and thanks for your input.

Daryl

www.spectaclesolutions.net <-- double-diamond bolt-in SFC's. We've had people running them in our club for years, even doing some serious auto-X.
No bolt hole elongation, no warping, no bolts backing out ..... no problems.
I've had them on my car for over a year.

I dont know why people spread this BS. I have BMR boxed subframes and i lost ZERO ground clearance. They tuck up real tight against the floor board, and chances are your y-pie will still hang 2 inches lower than the sfc will... If your losing ground clearance, then your sfc's werent installed right.

(They're also giving me some additional, under-the-car protection). And someone mentioned weight? I weighed mine before I installed them- my DD bolt-ons from www.spectaclesolutions.net weighed only 15lbs each.
Funny, people use terms like 'unecessary' and 'overkill'. Half the **** I put on my car is unecessary.
Finally, I can't vouch for other SFC bolt-on installs, but I doubt mine are going anywhere- but I'll keep an eye on them.
