stock SS RWHP
stock SS RWHP
Does anyone know what the stock RWHP was on the 98 SS? i have a 98 with crane cam and mildy ported heads and intake along with hooker LT's and y pipe and gmmg echaust..the dyno chart says 313.4 RWHP does that sound odd? will a dyno tune help me out a good amount? thanx Greg
Re: stock SS RWHP
stock for the 98s was probably around 285 for auto, and 295 for M6...give or take.
with a cam, heads and headers you should be well over 350 to the wheels...get a tune...it must be holding you back horribly

Re: stock SS RWHP
with heads/cam and an M6 you should put out 370 rwhp MINIMUM....
was this a dynojet or a mustang dyno (load bearing dyno)????
in either case (though more the dynojet), something is definitely not running right with your car...

Discover just aired a Horse Power show last Saturday. They're doing a 98 SS from stock to bolt ons. From the get go, Their Car (98 SS w/ 80k, m6) dynoed at "around 300 RWH," After just the SLP lid, cai and 3" flowmaster cat they dynoed her at 319 RWH. These cars all seem to dyno differently. just depend on the car?
Re: stock SS RWHP
Mustang dyno = Dynometer made by a company called "Mustang". It applies a load and will usually spit out lower numbers than Dynojet numbers.
Mustang dynos are often better for tuning a car. Dynojet numbers ,I have found, work out better mathmatically for figureing out your cars potential... Also since they (dynojets) are more common, many people find it easier to relate their HP #'s to eachother but in reality, you can only really compare dynos from the same dyno on the same day...
