I want to know which mods would be best to do to this thing, I'm don't want to buy ****ty equipment either. The car has not had anything done to it so far.

What is your plan with your car? Do you plan on keeping it forever? If you do then I would look at getting parts that will help you keep your car in good shape like STB, SFC, beef up your axle things that you can build on over the years. Do parts like that first. So you are not forced to spend money when you dont want to, or dont have it. For example if you put Money into the motor and all the power kills your rearend, you may have a problem like no money to fix it at that time or you had to spend money on something you didnt want to spend it on.

let us know you plan and we will help you.

Well, I want my car to be faster for sure but not hurt it. I know there are some prereqs for doing this. I plan to keep it for a long time, eventually I might want to go with a nos or NX system but after I have done some other stuff first to make sure the vehicle will be ok.

This is a great site for checking out appearance mods. I highly recommend browsing through it.

I have looked over that site, what I am worried about is mechanical mods to the car. I am a programmer not a mechanic so I'm not sure where to start, anyone have a FAQ on this or something?

www.ls1.com has an excellent FAQ section. It is very informative about the LS1 and what it takes to wake it up.

That is a good FAQ, nice site. I will prob end up with a dry nos system doing 100 shots after reading that.

Thumbs up

well if your looking at NOS then i would do like i said in my first post. go with mods to help you in the long run. safe mods that you can do so your dealer will not give you a hard time, air lid, fillter, muffler, stat, plugs, wires, Slp ram air or FAST toys ram air. Mods like that can all be taken off befor you hit the dealer if you have a problem. but if you dont care when the sky is the limit. One thing to remember if your going to Mod you car you dont want to just look at parts that are going to boost power, but mods that will make you quicker. If you free up weight in the drive train you will be quicker. I.E> lighter drive shaft, lighter wheels, better tire for grip and launch, by putting in parts that will give stength to your car you will have less body flex and that means more power to you wheels.
