Stock '01-'02 Z28 Dyno Numbers?

Hey guys, what exactly do stock'01-'02 Z28's dyno? I've been told they range 290-295 in the rear. Ihave a 2001 Z28 with a Flowmaster catback, probably getting it dynoed saturday, any guesses what it may hit?

I am guessing close to 300rwhp if it's a stick, around 290rwhp if it's a auto... and 280rwhp if it's gold/pewter.

Sorry guys, its an a4, black, dynojet dyno. Why only 280 if its gold/pewter? Only 290 with the 40 series flowmaster setup? they claim at least a 10 rwhp gain on them, kinda hoping for closer to the 300 range.

LS1's are all over the chart. You could be anywhere from 285-315 but probably closer to 300. No one car dyno's the same as another. Typically though a4's dyno a little lower than m6's simply because of drivetrain losses.

This is what my bone stock 2001 Trans Am M6 dyno'd. It rolled over 1,800 miles on the dyno.

He's just joking about the gold/pewter. I guess he doesn't like the color. As far as the flowmaster setup, flowmaster doesn't really do what it's name inplies very well. It's mostly for sound so don't expect to much from it.

How much do the two differ in results? I dynoed my car at a Mustang shop so I'll assume it was a Mustang dyno (Hope that's not bad).

I wanna say the Mustang reads about 5% lower than a Dynojet? That's not bad at all---actually most people seem to be more impressed by good numbers on a Mustang dyno.

Z28Cruzin, I'd guess you'll be pushing 300. Have fun on Saturday if you go for it!

Thumbs up

Like mentioned already before, you should be in the 300 +/- 10hp range.

My 00 dynoed 297/309 bone stock, so mine is more on the strong side for pre-01's, I guess.

Keep us posted once you get the numbers.

Mustang is a brand of dyno.. .regardless of the cars they service its best to look on your dyno sheet or call and ask.. Dont assume..

Mustang dynos, from what I understand, put a load on the car and is why they are often said to be "true" numbers.. I have yet to get on one but my near the end of Feb. My theory is that if you plug in the numbers you get on a dynojet dyno its computes..

Dynojet is just a more common dyno. Hence why most people like to use them to compare their scores.
