I just found out I have a short in my tape/12disc combo. I need it replaced or repaired. I asked my service advisor to switch out the tape and put in a CD headunit which would control the 12 disc in the back. He informed me that you cannot use a CD headunit to control a 12 disc changer. I was wondering if anyone knew anyway to workaround this problem. I really want a cd up front (tapes are now useless), but do not want to get rid of my 12 disc completely.

 

I have a CD deck and a 12 disc changer. Its possible, but I dont know if its Monsoon specific. If you dont have the monsoon system that could be your problem.

 

Same here ... I have a single CD head unit with a 12 disc changer in the back.

 

I have a monsoon, they say the problem is that they no longer make a CD unit that is compatible with the 12 disc changer (due to wiring or something) I am skeptical

 

i just bought an mp3/cd player for my other car for 189 if you have a comp you can rip your cd's and make a couple of mp3 disks I've got a total of 13 cd's on one mp3 disc...just a suggestion and you can get that cool factor with your friends

A 2000 and up cd player will work with your changer, or you can just remove the changer and tape player, sell it for 150 bucks and buy an new cd player.

 

i've got the cd up front and changer in back. But, is a 2002, maybe 98 has different wiring harness. Don't know. I would try to see what their part book has in it. Should be an easy swap if you are with all factory components.
