Starting

I have a 98 Z28 Camaro and sometimes when i go to start the car I turn the key to start it and nothing happens but when i try it again right after that it starts right up normally. Most of the time it starts on normaly like it should but i was wondering why it does that once in awhile and what is causing this. Thank you

Re: Starting

hey man my 99 SS camaro did the same thing And one day it didn't start. Left me stranded at the girl friends house what a shame. Any ways it what my ignition switch that went out. I didn't have a clue, when it happened so I called up my friend that is a mechanic and he said he had seen it happen before. My car had 60000 on it at the time. He said it will happen to all of are cars eventually every time someone goes to crank the car up it moves these two little wires connected to the switch, after time one of those wires will break. I looked at te swithch myself and thats what happened. Hope that helps, that is what mine was doing
