Thumbs up SSRA-go for it

Just met the guy who invented it. Had it installed and I am very happy. You can't beat the price $199, and it's an easy install. Every gear pulls a little harder and the car growls a little more.

George it was a pleasure to meet you today. The short shifter stick is called the Qwik Stick. It really helps the shifting, huh. Thanks for the praise on the Super Sucker too.

SSRA is an enclosed bow from the front valence to the airbox. The FTRA has a plate the directs air upward. I have been very pleased with mine, and he is a great guy to work with.

Scott, they are quite different. The SSRA actually has a scoop to direct air up to the engine. It is mounted under the front bumper. This lower scoop box feeds into the upper box under the airfilter. It is one continuous system. The bottom box fits tightly into the upper. The FTRA basically has a top box under the filter that stops at the hood latch support. Then a plate attaches below it to direct air upward. The problem with the FTRA is that it covers the radiator. The SSRA angles away from the radiator to allow air to pass over the radiator. Using Autotap the SSRA, the air inlet temp(AIT) is consistently 4-5 degrees cooler than the FTRA. Some would say the drawback on the SSRA is that you can hit the scoop on the SSRA with a curb. If you are careful this won't be a problem. Plus it's plastic so it gives. Email me at ss1le02@yahoo.com and I'll send you a bunch of pics.

To further comment on the curb thing, if you are being careful not to hit the skid plate on the bottom of the car in the first place then this setup (SSRA) will be no problem at all.

To each his own, besides, you can barely see it unless you're looking for it. I notice that you're car is fairly slow(13.5). You might consider this to improve your times

ls1's should be must fast than 13.5 (with loud mouth and air lid and y-pipe) dont worry SS1le02 let him think hes fast

(maybe he just cant drive)

FYI -- my buddies 99 SS with only a lid and a cut-out ran a 13.2 and he consistantly pulled 13.3's. I say now thats good for a stock ls1.
