But, like you said, the WS6 Ram-Air is a lot better than the SS hood design. Probably good for an extra couple of HP at speed...............then again, the WS6 weighs a little more, haha. The age old debate never ends.

I agree, the WS6 has better Ram Air.....but how do you figure it weighs more? They are the same car.

WS6 OWNS SS!!!!!!!!!
No wait***
SS OWNS WS6!!!!!!!!!
Ahh they are both the same performance wise so it comes down to which one you think LOOKS like it owns the other. I think the WS6 looks cooler but then again I'm a little biased.

My '00 SS ran right with a '02 WS6 (mine is stock and he said his was). Not much difference in performance.
As for ram air, it doesn't actually do anything until over 65 mph. I think if it more as a CAI. IIRC, the WS6 also has a deeper filter box. The SS scoop is a bit far back to be functional as ram air, but I do like being able to see my scoop when driving.
Non performace related... I like the SS headlights. Let the WS6 get some years and miles on it and you'll have probs with those pop-up headlights. Stuff like that is where the WS6 gets heavy, it all adds up. I do like the rear fascia with the cut outs for the tail pipes on the WS6 though. I don't like the 4 hole look of the WS6 hood. It looks like Pontiac added it as an after thought. Like an engineer was sitting there and remembered," oh ya, we need to put a hood on the TA," at the last minute before production. The Firehawk hood looks much smoother and natural.
For me it boiled down to the best deal I could get.

Not to nitpick, but only the exhaust tips are different. The exhaust itself is the same, so there'd be no gains to be had with one car over another.

My buddy has a stock WS6 and my SS's stock exhaust is louder and has a bit more rumble to it than his WS6.
