SS induction?

To take advantage of a SS hood, is there a nice induction that is affordable...of course...and sucks some air from the hood? jw bc I am looking into the SS hood. Would I get rid of my whisper air flow lid? I think i do but not too sure.

It depends on what SS hood you get.

Factory hood you can keep you lid.

After market you use a different setup.

If you want the best ram air go with SSRA.

The ram air effect on any hood is minimal, but gets a bit better the more forward the scoop opening is. You're better off thinking of them as cold air induction hoods, especially since they aren't sealed systems anyway.

Usually, the biggest benefits of going to a fiberglass hood over a steel unit is the weight reduction, and looks of course.

Look here http://www.installuniversity.com/ in the tech articles for the one titled "Super Sport Hoods, do they really supply cool air to the engine". Its a very good article. The hoods (at least the factory ones and the factory look-a-likes) are cosmetic. I own an SS and like the looks, but I will be the first to tell you there are no performance advatages. Looks COOOOOL though. Worth it to me!! Best bet for cool air is free ram air mod or fast toys or super sucker
