SS Camaros & SLP Options

Ok.... do all SS Camaro's ('98+) come with all SLP options? Or can just a few be added to it and the rest factory equipment? Is there any way I can check before hand to seperate SLP from factory equipment?

All SSs come with special floormats, keyfobs, and Camaro SS decals.

You get a different hood, spoiler, and 17 inch wheels instead of 16. A different airbox that opens on top to make use of the hood. You get a slightly different exhaust too (that doesnt mean the exhuast is better though)

The suspension is also slightly tweaked and has a bigger swaybar I think.

The above listed are all standard.

SLP options include an SLP motorsport Lid and SLP performance tuned exhuast system. IMO these options are a horrible waste of money. They cost alot more than they would on the aftermarket and you can find much better aftermarket replacements anyway.

It must have a SLP induction .... the hood scoop seems non-functional..... underneath the hood there seem to be no open spaces for air to be directed from the hood scoop....i guess thats another area where Im kinda " " at.

Cant really mod the SS too far since we are gunna take out a Extended Warranty ...

Yes they take off the Z28 exhaust and put on crappier exhaust.

It does go to the intake but not until it makes a nice 360 degree turn.

Wink

Camaro SS's only come with slp Y2Y options if they were ordered. Approx. 50% of Camaro SS's have a slp option. SS's do not come with special floormats or keyfob as previously stated, you have to buy them or order then as a Y2Y option. A base SS just has the SS hood, different exhaust than a Z28, 17" wheels, along with the SS badges.

Okay, no. Its been proven time and time again that the exhaust on the SS does not really give any additional power. Thus it is different but not necessarily better.

The airbox is not different. Floor mats are $100, key fobs and dash plaque is another $50. (that's what mine has)

The ram air is functional, the reason for the curves is to smooth the air, turbulent air kills hp. Most people will agree the only gains to be had by an SS hood is from the cold air and not ram air.

gossco95, look at the underside of the hood. notice that right where the hood pushes up (closest to you) you will find a bunch of slots cut out of the metal. If you cant find it, just look and see what part of the hood seems to sit directly in front of the intake slot on the air box. feel for the holes on the underside of the hood with your fingers... (you cant see them with your eyes, they are facing away from you hidden from view) but they are there!
