Special on MTI lids-$79, worth it?

I was just on mti's site and on their specials page they have black lids for $79. Seems like a good price.I was considering getting whisper lids carbon fiber one but this seems like a good deal. Has anyone had problem with Mti's lids before?

Thumbs down

I have an MTI lid.
I thought mine was of very poor quality. If I was in the market for a lid now, I would pay $10-15 more for another brand.
That's just my opinion...

I have the plain ol' black MTI lid and I don't think the fit is perfect but it's not bad at all either. IMO, it's a pretty good lid and I'm happy with it...so yeah, I think it's worth $80.

I really like mine, I haven't had any problems with it. I think it has a very good fit with my hood.

I'm running a black MTI lid on my car. It doesn't have any issues that the other lids don't have (decent fit, weatherstrip seals it)

I paid $99 for mine back in the summer of '01 and thought that was a good price. So $80 is even better.

Don't forget your breather element for the A.I.R. hose.

Question Are there different MTI lids ?

Mine is black with the MTI letters molded on top - it came w/ the car.

Seems to be fine !

The Granatelli lid that I bought for the T/A, however, and paid ~ $75.00 for did not seal properly on the backside. I wound up taking some of that gray self adhesive weather stripping & solving that problem.

It is now relagated to the storage room - I'd probably give it away, but don't know if I would actually take anyone's money for it ...

In any case, if there are not different MTI lids than I'd say go for it - that's a good price.

Later !

My DirectFlo was only 95 bucks. And it fits great. I dont know how the MTI's are but if some people dont like them maybe the extra 15 bucks is worth it.

I wish someone had told me that when I was in the market...
