Spec Stage 3 Carbon
I have heard a lot of people say they dont like the spec stage 3 cause it grabs too hard and has lot of chatter. If you like a clutch that grabs like a champ but it is still freindly enough to drive on the street, this clutch is a good choice.
Thanks for the info guys. I pushed the install date back 1 week so I can buy a light weight fly wheel. I know that the light fly wheel is not great for hard launchs at the track, but Iam on the street 99.9% of the time. I figure if the trans is being opened up go ahead and put some quality stuff in! I will let yall know how it feels after the install.
i have the spec stage 3 ceramic and love it i convinvced two of my budies to get it locally and a few others on the boards....
dont be scared i know it sounds like it is for the strip but in reality it is very driveable and not strip only...GET STAGE # CERAMIC

I installed the SpecIII ceramic in my 2000 SS about 350 miles ago. I went ahead and updated the master cylinder to the McCleod adjustable and also the slave cylinder to the 2001 model.
I also did the drill mod.
I have definite clutch chatter, but it is improving as I put the miles on the car. Still very streetable in my opinion. You just let out the clutch quicker than you did with the stock to avoid the chatter or up your rev's an slip it a little.

Ok I got my stage 3 carbon insalled but I was pursuaded not to get the light weight flywheel. So, no light flywheel! I had it installed this past monday and have 150 miles on it. They (SPEC) want 400miles on the clutch before dropping the hammer or any type of speed shifting. I love the feel of the clutch, firm all the way down but it engages/disengages about 1/2 way down or less....just how I think it whould be! Yes there is chatter if you slip the clutch without giving some revs to get to a roll in first. I honestly feel the car goes into gear, specificly 1st and Reverse much easier and in general feels less notchy than with the factory piece
Maybe iam just baised
As soon as I get the 400 miles on the setup I plan on making a trip to the track and well let you all know how my 60's improve.
Next 2 mods.....1.) 4.10's 2.) FLP's = 12.20's is what Iam predicting!!! I know that is alot but all i have done is a lid and catback so far and the 12.69 was on the stock F1's. With the Nittos I have now the factory clutch would slip like hell with 60's in the consistant 1.98-2.01 range. I did manage to eek out a 1.94 my first time out on the nittos with the stock unit and since that trip to the track the stock piece couldn't hold even with slipping the clutch @ 2000rpm!
