Post Smooth belows for $25

I was looking at turbonetics online catalog and i noticed this

http://www.turboneticsinc.com/catalog/nitrile.html

It is a nitrile hump hose. I checked the price and it was only $25. I was also looking at silicone hoses..

http://www.turboneticsinc.com/catalog/silicone.html

and saw them for $32. You could get the silicone hoses in differnt colors by adding #'s to the end of the part #, -1 for blue,-3 for red and -5 for black.

Please tell me you are NOT talking about a smooth piece that goes from the MAF sensor to the TB? $25 bucks??? NO WAY go to Home Depot and for about $5 bucks (yes 5 dollars) you can get a ''Fernco'' piece. Look in the plumbing section (seriously NOT kidding) It even comes with 2 Stainless Steel clamps although you might have to check the bottom of the box they are in because they fall off, make sure you get BOTH clamps. You want to get the 3 inch to 3 inch size. I have heard they make a 3.5 inch to 3 inch size but it wasnt in stock. You can make the 3 inch to 3 inch size fit, it takes a little effort, but it will go on.

Yes, I have seen the fenco hose used. It looks like $hit and very ghetto on LS1's. They fit quite good on LT1 WS6's cause the ram air box is right in front of it, but the fernco hose does not bend very well to make the transition from the MAF to the TB on LS1's since the air box is a little higher than the TB. For those who don't what their cars looking like it came off the show "junkyard wars" this is a cheaper version of the SLP ripoff.

Yeah ... make sure to get the 3.5 - 3.5 ...do NOT get the 3.5 to 4 inch hump hose. The 4" is too big! Even though their web site says that it's the right one ... it isn't. I just had to ship back 3 of the 3.5 - 4 hump hoses and get the 3.5 on both ends.

If someone wants to experiment ... I bet the 3.0 - 3.5 hump hose would be the best one from AirFlow Systems. After I get the 3.5 installed, I might order the 3 - 3.5 just to see if it fits better and if not, I'll find something else I can use the piece for.

Rats I LOVE that show ''junk yardwars'' I parked both my 97 WS6 and 02 WS6 side by side and yes indeed the 02 is not as straight of a shot as the 97.However for the price difference the Fernco piece still seems to be the best buy, also the Fernco piece shines up quite well with any decent rubber/plastic protectant. I mean its YOUR money in the end, so you decide on what YOU like more, guess its just up to the individuals taste.

For those that have used the Fernco piece and haven't had any problems, that's great, but it has been known to crack lids due to its inflexibility.
I bought a smooth bellows piece from a guy who was cutting them to fit and selling them for $20, probably similar to the ones that texanmutt has seen. Very nice, good fit, email me if you want some info (not sure if I can post it).
