smooth bellows...

sorry if this is the wrong place but did not see any other place for it. And i am talking about an LS1.

Ok i know smooth bellows do not add power and they smooth out the airflow going in? Why would you even spend money on this part? The only thing i heard was it changes the sound. Can someone clarify? Thanks

Well the gains will be very very little, it won't change any sound Most people just end up with a cracked lid because of lack of flex when the motor moves....just my .02 cents

Could be getting confused with the sound difference between a stock and aftermarket lid. Removing the silencers as they do, will increase the intake sound of the engine under full throttle. Hardly think that a bellow would do that alone. A lid, yeah.

Put your $50 somewhere else.

I did my smooth bellows with a $5 fernco couplet from Home Depot. Didn't take much time and very little money. Check out www.installuniversity.com for the free mods, I won't start the debate again, but I believe in the free ram air mod, and descreening the MAF didn't hurt my car any. The Tb by pass is a good easy one to start.

I have had my bellows on for about a year and didn't get a cracked lid. I would be lying if i told you i saw a performance gain though.

I did the Fernco, now I have a hump hose. i did it for looks and the fact I needed a new coupler since I trashed the stock on doing something else. The only real reason I can see doing it is looks. I think it looks cleaner. I didn't feel any gain from it.
