Post Smoke.........

Me and my friend who has a new gmc were going down a double lane on the way home and I got the notion to nail just messin around. He said that when I hit it my exhuast let out a lil smoke. He said it was nothing like rolling black smoke just a lil likte lite grey puff just enough to see that I nail it. Is this normal? If not what should I do? Thanks. 99 a4 trans am.

cool!

as long as your getting good gas mileage and the car feels and sounds good it should be fine, it's probably just a little burning oil. how many miles on your engine?

From what I understand, that's pretty common. I know my 2001 Z28 did it with only 3000 miles on it.

As long as it's not billowing smoke, or steady smoking all the time, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

On the flip side, I've never noticed my 2001 WS6 smoke at all. Hmmmm ...

My car has 28,000 miles on it. I do admit I have a heavy foot but I am only getting 220 miles to a tank of gas! How suckie is that.

that's bad man, it's like 13 mpg, i nearly get twice that. I would try to do something to fix that because think of the money your throwing away. it doesn't sound like you drive it a whole lot, but mine is my only car, so i make sure it's running top.

A small puff of black smoke, as you described, is nothing to worry about at all. My 94 Z28 (LT1) did it, my 94 Vette did it, and my 99SS does it slightly less then the previous two. Its no big deal, its normal.
