SLP y pipe?
SLP y pipe?
I'm thinking of getting a y pipe for my 2002 z28. How much can I gain by just this one mod alone? Is the SLP Y pipe the best one to get as far as fit and performance? My car is totally stock except for 3.42. It's an A4.
Thanks

You know, I've heard both sides of the story on the y-pipe.. The stock y-pipe has one flattened side. But that flattened side is supposdily more ovalish and has the same crossectional area as the other unflattened side..
IMO, I think its debatable on just a catback..

I think you'd be better off doing something else as your first real performance mod... A y-pipe by itself wouldn't get you the gains you're probably looking for. I'm going to wait till I put headers on, then just swap out my y-pipe at the same time.

An aftermarket y-pipe is only for a deeper sounding exhaust, you won't gain much if anything from it. Even though the stock y-pipe looks restrictive it actually flows very well. Plus if you ever intend to get mid or LT headers you'll have to get rid of the y-pipe. It's a waste of money.....
