Talking SLP underdrive pulley

Hey, somebody please buy the underdrive pulley and let me know how good it is!! i'm wanting to get either that one or the ASP. I'm leaning more toward the SLP because i like their stuff.

I've never used one but in an issue of GMHTP they tested a goup of bolt-ons and they included it. They saw a zero or minimla gain in performence on a 99 T/A auto. It is a cheap bolt-on so it didn't hurt them and you may see difference results, but I wouldn't get one from what I read.

Was that on a dyno or track, cause the pulleys free up power not give you any

ASP is the way to go. I've seen SLP pulleys blamed for inducing knock on LS1s.

I have the ASP, and have had no problems. I installed a cam at the same time, so I can't personally speak for any gains from it...

Good luck,
Shane

Sooooo, if I get the ASP, you PROMISE i wont have any thrown belts??? i'd hate to worry about that all the time for minimal gain in horsepower.. I mean, pretty much every dyno i've seen has added like 8 horsepower with the ASP, but on tims camaro, he got like 12. I'm getting the QTP headers with the qtec cutout, so i might get 10 out of the pulley??? maybe???

ASP..

As for thrown belts, ugh.. I have seen it happen and am leery about it but on my LT1 I had an ASP pully and loved it.

It doenst "make" hp, but it frees up hp you already had. Since its based on a percentage, the amount will vary based on how much power you are using and making.. I remember on my LT1 that the crank pulley did give me a bit better throttle response..
