SLP parts maintain warranty?

Hey -

I know there have been a lot of threads about dealers refusing to do warranty work because of totally unrelated mods.

I have a 2001 SS with a small crack in the intake manifold, so I need them to replace it. The car has an SLP MAF and SLP air lid. Otherwise, bone stock. Should I have any problems? Also, if they refuse, is there any recourse directly through GM?

if you have the old stuff i'd put it back on, but there is no reason for them to refuse your warrenty due to that. neither the lid nor the maf would cause the intake manifold to crack. if they give you problems just call gm and it'll get handled or request to speak with the area rep.

To be on the safe side i would replace what you just named with the OEM parts until you get it back from the dealer, because they WILL try to find a way to not cover it under warranty. Since the Intake has been replaced.

Put the stock items back on. I talked with 2 local dealers and they said it would have had to cause the problem before they would void the warranty. But I know these dealers and have many cars to them, they also don't wanna lose me as a customer. But the thing a dealer could use, is that you must have hit the intake with something when you were putting those parts on. Better to cover your A$$!
