SLP loudmouth II ?

Hey guys, I bought the loudmouth II muffler to put in place of the resonator and this may be a stupid question but I was wondering if it mattered which end goes towards the front. One of the ends is a solid circle and the other has 2 cut outs in them. I know, I know stupid question probably but please help. Thanks!

Hey, not sure about the answer to the question, did the product not come with an installation diagram? Perhaps you can find one on SLPONLINE.com?

Once you get it installed, let us know how well it cut down on the drone. I'm really considering the same thing. Is your SLP Loudmouth 1 the NON-modular type (old version)?

Thanks!

It didn't come with an instruction sheet. I do have to old version. I will definately let every know how it sounds. The reason I bought it was to hopefully cut down on the inside drone.

Re: SLP loudmouth II ?

If you have the old system, I'm pretty sure you're going to need some welding done. From what you described, the end that is cut (front) was designed to slip fit over the I-pipe so that you could clamp it in place. The other end was desined to have the remaining section slip over it (meaning the remaining section on the newer versions look like the front part with the slits). Since you have the older version, you'll probably have to do some minor fabrication/cutting and welding to replace the resonator in your system. Any local muffler shop should be able to do it for you. I wouldn't pay more than $50 to have it done though.

Re: SLP loudmouth II ?

What happened with the install? Did you do it yourself? Did you have a shop do it? How much did it cost? How do you like the new sound? How much did it cut down on the drone?

Thanks!

I put the LM II on my 2000 T/A, and to be honest with you, I love it.
Sounds real nice. Not to loud until you mash it. I installed it myself. It was not to hard. The hardest part was cutting the stock exhaust off.
