SLP loudmouth is an excellent sounding and performing exhaust. On a stock car expect about 10HP at the wheels. It will be extremely loud with the LT headers, with or without cats.

a few guys said the loudmouth hp gains are about the same as gmmg and borla, is that true? i hope loudmouth hp gains are very close to borla and gmmg, i wouldnt think gmmg puts anything like 18-20 rwhp at the wheels

Loudmouth flows better then both GMMG and Borla. Your probably not going to be able to tell the difference in power between the 3 of them, regardless what people say. I personally like the way all 3 sound. I chose LM because I think it sounds the great and is half the price of the other 2.

it's a straight exhaust with no muffler, so it will pretty much outflow any "mufflered" system, but logically should be the same as borla when wide open.

it is loud on a stock car, and insane on LT's with out cats....

like "pull me over" loud all the time.

rob...did you have LT's and no cats?

not saying you will get pulled over all the time. but considering i've had a cop mention "that exhaust is a bit loud" when all i was running was stock cats and a magnaflow...

if i would have had the cutout open ...i would have been screwed

I agree i have the SLP LM and Y-pipe which changed the tone a lot compared to just the LM. If i had to redo it i would do the same setup.

I agree with some of the above statements. I know that the LM with LT's and no cats in insane loud and is not very good sounding at all.

Overall I would say on a stock/mostly stock car LM is good for the price, but if you plan on LT's later I would stay away from it. I know of plenty of people who have put bullet mufflers in their lM just to keep it drivable.

Setup on our new car is Awesome. It consists of SLP LT's, Random Technology cats and a BORLA. BEST sounding LS1 I have ever heard

there's other options too...

For about 100 bucks, I had the local shop cut out my muffler and run pipes where it used to be... like the "dynomouth" but without the bullet muffler. Basically no muffler at all, sounds awesome, maybe a little vibration right at the shift points, but the shift kit I plan to install should fix that. No cops after me yet, well worth the hundred bucks.

Similar set up here except I'm running an "18 Dynomax Bullet in place of the LM's resonator (aka: Dynomouth). Really mellow's it out.

Loud when you get on it, but definitely not obnoxious at all and comparable to stock at idle/crawling speeds.

The Loudmouth is by far the best flowing widely available cat-back out there, it's just the sound that some people have issues with.

I had a LM. I loved it when I was cruising around town, and when I was gunning it ... but I hated it on the freeway where I had to run the car at higher or lower RPMs than I wanted to avoid the HORRIBLE cabin drone.

Being half the price of the other catbacks, it seems to be worth the money though.
